Tonight, Bianca,our secretary, organized this dinner. It was quite impressive, even I sit in the same table with Frits. Tomorrow, most of my colleagues will leave for the Christmas holiday, plusing Frits, the senior supervisor, and, I will still have a meeting next week. So, good for me to work until the end of this year. Actually, I love the year of 2008.

In my opinion, Van Gogh is a miserable and hard-working man. During the whole life, struggling with colour problem, he died in poor, without accepting and releasing himself...

Considering the high price, 15euro without satisfying Heineken trial, we just took a picture outside the Heineken Musuem...

     Since I changed my operating system to Linux last week, I can not stop being addicted to it. It leads me to every convenient stuff I never noticed before, and some time I am thinking of that I might can be a IT girl. I want more money~~
     Actually, it is just a guider, which inspires you initiatively find what you want, what you would like to get. As the R&D way, when you face a barrier, try to find a solution by yourself. "Think, that is the Budda's way."

I'm not quite sure why I'd like to record some of my colleagues at this time. Just as my supervisor said, they're really good people. Maybe coz they'er intelligent, maybe coz they're kind hearted, and maybe just because they're some ones who I spent time working with.

The first one I'd like to mention is my supervisor Charl Botha. He's from South Africa, and have been here for eight years. He's the only American style guy in our group, speak fast, walk fast, and work fast. Even though he's 34 now, father of one girl, he is still behaving like a child in our group. He loves trying every Hi-Tech product, and always get quite excited about that. Besides, there are always a Japanese comic doll and a transformer doll on his desk. At the time I arrived, my English made everyone headache, but he could get me even I didn't finish my words. So he is really brilliant, isn't he? and handsome:)

Jorik Blaas is an cooperator of my project. Fanning computer since his childhood, he probably is the specialist in computer stuff in our group. With blond long hair without plaiting, and drinking Chinese tea with teapot everyday, he seems a little special. He is really kind and good heated to everyone, typical Dutch style~

Office tag, new machine, new books, dual hardware immediately...they're too nice to me

Gradually, I've been more comfortable with Eng. environment now. When language has no longer been the obstacle, I feel pleasantly surprised about what I have felt in the western world. Whatever you will do in the future, going abroad for some time is necessary, I believe. Perhaps, doing PhD was quite a lucky choice I made four years ago,  although it is always not easy. 

When I had a long talk with Yue last weekend, I realized what the most important gift I gained from PhD studying. That is the EYE. From a kind of eye, I could see how charming the world is, how amazing ourselves are, how complicate the science is, how simple the universe are. So Wangbin was right, this should be the way one experiences, enjoying with pain.
