EWI building is the highest building in Delft, we are working on the 12th floor of EWI. It has quite a nice view from the window of my office. Overlooking the small Delft city if you get tired of programming is an effective relax way.

It was the second time my colleague share the sunset with me. Peter walked into our office, shifted the window shutter, said “ I just want to see where is the sun.” Wa, what a beatiful view it was. Although we could not see the gone sun, the red cloud was dyeing the conjunction of the sky and the land. Sparkling lights from some buildings was like stars in the universe. I could not stop watching it for quite a long time, also my supervisor beside was exclaiming “I should skate under the sunset”. Because the temperature in the Netherlands went to -10℃ yesterday, it was supposed to be safe skating on lakes.

Last time, Lafael came to my office, did the same thing. “Oh, it was just three minutes ago, I saw the sun. Because my desk is face to the window, I can see the sunset regularly going down.” And he came to share with me.

This is the european way of life. Whenever they are working or studying, they won’t forget to enjoy the beauty around, they won’t forget to enjoy the life that could bring them the simple and pure happy, and share with others.

The New Year’s Eve of 2009 I was in Rome, in front of Colosseo. It was really a special experience to celebrate a New Year’s coming with Italians and tourists in Rome. Rock band, fireworks, champagne, and Colosseo….
